How it started
A year ago, our bedtime routine reshuffled. My wife started putting our younger son down first, which left our older son to me. Small problem: he wanted his mom, not me.
So I started making up stories. Right there on the spot, about whatever drifted through my tired brain. To my surprise, they worked. Bedtime went from a nightly standoff to the best fifteen minutes of my day.
Those made-up stories grew into a whole world, with its own lands, its own characters, and a notebook-carrying hero named Pip. I sneak little pieces of our real life into every one, and my son catches every single one. Now I'd love to share them with your family too.
The world of Luminos
Every story takes Pip and Bramble somewhere new, and every land is stranger and more wonderful than the last.
Wobbleshire
Pip's home village. Buildings lean sideways, the sky changes colour at noon, and everyone knows everyone's business.
The Sticky Wilds
A forest where the trees are made of taffy and the rain smells of cinnamon. The Wandering Fair sometimes appears in its clearings.
The Upside Sea
An ocean that floats above the clouds. Ships sail it upside-down. The fish only whisper.
Mount Grumblor
A grumpy mountain who sighs earthquakes and sneezes avalanches. Actually just very, very lonely.
Dimly Deep
An underground city lit entirely by glowing mushrooms, where everyone is wide awake all night and fast asleep all day.
The Wandering Fair
A traveling carnival that turns up when you least expect it and leaves before you're ready. A tiny composer lives in its music box.
Meet the crew
A small thoughtful hero, a magical bear cub, and the gentle strangers they meet along the way.
Pip Tanglefoot
The Brain
Six years old, mismatched shoes, notebook on a string. Believes every problem can be solved by asking a better question.
Bramble
The Heart
A magical bear cub who can grow into a giant or shrink to fit in Pip's hood. Calls everyone “friend.” Mostly wants a nap.
Zimi
The Wise One
A star-shaped creature made of light. Ancient and wise, and speaks entirely in rhymes.
Mister Crinklecap
The Advisor
A giant mushroom who runs the village shop. Gives terrible advice with complete, unwavering confidence.
The story collection
A full year of Luminos is ready to read, and a new story arrives every month. Each one is warm, funny, and just a little chaotic.
